Yellow or Amber Safety Signs

Just like traffic lights, a yellow or amber safety sign denotes a warning, which warns the public to take precaution and/or care in their workplace or environment.

These types of safety signs are seen when using hazardous chemicals. A warning safety sign is usually triangular in shape and visually over 50% of the sign has to be yellow or amber with thick black piping on the edge. It is normal to have a clear diagram of the hazard in the center of the sign.

In the work environment, it is the employer’s responsibility and duty to make sure all staff understand the meaning of all safety signage on display within their workplace even if it the safety sign’s meaning is self-explanatory.
